This song features original lyrics by myself. Many years ago I was taking a vocal improv class and we were transcribing solos on this piece. The lyric came to me as I was driving home one night and within a matter of minutes the whole thing was finished. The original writer is Bernie Miller, and the central character in the story became a piano player named Bernie.
